I just completed the Vienna half marathon today! It is really quite an eye opener as there are so many runners from all over the place taking part in the race. Before the start of the race, the organizers read out the countries of the runners and when they read Singapore, there was this kind of pride glowing within me. Hee.
When the horn sounded, everyone ran with full speed and chiong all the way, except for me because normally i run very slowly at the start. Hence, many people overtook me and some even brushed past me abruptly. You know, those ang mohs with no running ethics as they try to squeeze past you. Several times i was very annoyed by it, but it got better when the crowd started to disperse and there are more running space. Overall, it was an enjoyable run, also a tiring one because everyone was running so fast.
The weather was pretty nice, sunshine most of the time, but the wind was quite chilly at certain part of the race. During the first half of the race i was dehydrated most of the time because the sun was really strong and i kept sweating, almost like in Singapore! And, to get a drink from the water station was really hard because everyone wanna get something to drink too, thus massive jam at the water station.
21km, 2h 4min. I think i did it quite okie! =D
After the race, i stayed around to cheer the rest of the runners. There are really many good runners in Europe! Alot of them came in at around 3~4 hrs and quite alot of them are women! Wah seh, i am really impressed.
So now, i am just resting in the hostel and relaxing abit. My right heels still hurts quite badly and now i have a throbbing headach. Tomorrow need to wake up really early to catch a flight to Switzerland.
Hee. :D
